Test Your Might For Real As Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat League Launches Tomorrow

Even though I don’t play a lot of Mortal Kombat 11, or fighting games in general, I can’t get enough of watching the tournaments on Twitch. Tomorrow, I can throw my hat into the competitive arena and see where I stack up.

The first month-long Kombat League kicks off tomorrow with the Season of Blood. Nine ranked levels will show where you stack up against the rest of the community, from Apprentice to Elder God. Each rank gives cosmetics only earned during via the Kombat League. You’ll receive the reward based on the highest rank you reached before the end of the season. So don’t sweat it if you rank down after the first week.

Here’s the rank breakdown from highest to lowest:

Elder God

God

Demi God

Grand Master

Master

Champion

Warrior

Kombatant

Apprentice

I already know it’s going to be a struggle for me. I ran through the advanced tutorials the other day and felt pretty good about myself. That changed in a hurry once I jumped into a real match. Still, I love it when games add a ranked mode. That’s one of the reasons I can’t get enough of Rocket League. Getting that Champion rank felt so damn good when it finally happened.

I’ll consider hitting Champion this month a win for me.

Tomorrow’s going to be a busy day for Mortal Kombat 11. Not only is Kombat League launching, but Kombat Pack 1 owners get their hands on Shang Tsung.

Mortal Kombat 11’s exciting June wraps up with CEO 2019 at the Daytona Beach Ocean Center on June 28 – 30. Registration ends on June 18 if you want to give your fighting game skills translate from online to LAN.
