I’m not a diehard VR fan. The tech is cool, but the price point combined with the lack of a bunch of must-have games has kept me on the sidelines (outside an Oculus dev unit purchase a few years ago). But a new Ace Combat 7 trailer is making a PSVR purchase awfully tempting.
First thought? That looks badass. Second thought? Why the hell haven’t we seen more flying games lately? I want to see more folks give us some flying game goodness. I can’t be the only one who wishes EA would bring back the ‘Strike’ helicopter series. Take whoever was responsible for the choppers in Battlefield 4 and build a whole game around it.
Anyways, back to Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown. I’ll probably get a bad case of motion sickness, but tilting your head and seeing missiles slam into ground targets as you soar past looks epic. And the game’s story always had just the right amount of cheesiness for me. It cracks me up flying around in realistic jets as fictional countries duke it out. Toss in a few ridiculous aircraft in for good measure.
