The Hitman HD Enhanced Collection Give Blood Money And Absolution The 4K Treatment

There’s no such thing as too much Hitman. Io Interactive kept things mostly the excellent same for Hitman 2. But if you’ve already mastered all its levels, the folks behind Hitman are giving us a reason to revisit some old games. Blood Money and Absolution are getting remastered with a January 11 release. A bullet point list lays out the big features coming:

  • 4K visuals at 60 frames per second
  • Increased texture resolution
  • Upgraded texture formats
  • Super-sampling
  • Upscale support
  • Heightened shadow map and mirror resolutions
  • Improved lighting
  • Updated controls for a more fluid experience

No word on a price yet. A quick search on digital storefronts also comes up empty. As for platforms, it looks like it’s only on PS4 and Xbox One. Sorry PC folks.

Blood Money is the standout here for Hitman fans, but Absolution isn’t as bad as some make it out. Its levels are much more linear compared to the choose your own way of Blood Money, and the more recent Hitman games. But some might prefer the more linear nature of Absolution versus huge, sprawling maps.

Me? I’m down to give both another playthrough. As I said, there’s no such thing as too much Hitman. I do want to see what the price is. Anything over $30 is pushing it.
