December’s Xbox Game Pass Lineup Isn’t Messing Around

11 games will hit Xbox Game Pass in December. Two of them came out earlier this week, Mutant Year Zero and Strange Brigade. But the folks under Xbox boss Phil Spencer are just getting started. Mortal Kombat X and Ashen join the subscription service today. And the lineup will only grow each week in December.

Here’s a breakdown of what’s coming in December to Xbox Game Pass:

Mutant Year Zero (December 4)

XCOM style gameplay with a mutant cast of characters trying to make it in what’s left of civilization. The trailer sold me on at least trying it.

Strange Brigade (December 6)

I’ll let the game’s description do the talking. “Strange Brigade offers a rip-roaring, 1930s-style campaign full of peril, intrigue, and good old derring-do for one to four players as you tackle an army of mummified monsters!”

Mortal Kombat X (December 7)

With Mortal Kombat 11 coming in just a few months, now is the perfect time to visit (or revisit) MKX. I’ll be pestering my buddies to give this a download.

Ashen (December 7)

It’s got some Dark Souls vibes to the combat, and the art style is fantastic. I played it for about an hour last night, and so far I’m digging it. Definitely one of my must-play games this month.

Kingdom Two Crowns (December 11)

“Work with other players in the brand-new solo or co-op campaign mode to build a kingdom and secure it from the threat of the Greed.”

Pro Evolution Soccer 19 (December 13)

This is why I love Xbox Game Pass. I’m not really into sports games, but I’ll give it a shot anyways.

Spintires: Mudrunner (December 13)

Siberia’s wilderness is your playground, and off-road vehicles are your toys.

Below (December 14)

Yep, it’s finally coming. Capy Games first revealed it way back in 2013. Next week we get our hands on it.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrfice (December 17)

Get a taste of what Ninja Theory (now part of Microsoft) can do. Follow a Celtic warrior on her journey “into Viking Hell to fight for the soul of her dead lover.”

Ori and the Blind Forest (December 20)

Fantastic gameplay with even better music. Ori and the Blind Forest is one of my favorite games in the last five years. Moon Studios’ side-scrolling platformer needs to be played by everyone.

Shadow Warrior 2 (December 20)

Nothing needs to be said, just watch the trailer.

Dammit Xbox, I’m trying to finish Red Dead Redemption 2 and all the other holiday games. And you go and drop a Game Pass month like this. Ashen and Below are definite must plays for me. But I’ll make some time for a few more too.

Which games are you going to be playing this month?
