EA’s Anthem Nabs Assassin’s Creed: Origins Composer

You might not recognize Sarah Schachner’s name, but many of us have heard her music over the past few years. Maybe it was the excellent Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare soundtrack she composed. For me, it was Assassin’s Creed: Origins. Sarah nailed it when the Assassin’s Creed franchise returned after taking a year off.

This week, BioWare announced Sarah Schachner as Anthem’s composer. The blog post briefly touches on why BioWare thinks Schachner is the perfect fit. “A multi-instrumentalist, Schachner’s evocative time-travelling and intergalactic scores will create the perfect backdrop for rocketing around in a javelin and exploring Anthem’s dangerous world.”

We heard a small snippet of the soundtrack during Anthem’s E3 demo. BioWare also uploaded the ‘Valor’ theme to Soundcloud so you can listen to it without the talking developer drowning it out.

Damn, that sounds amazing. I love the opening.

Well, we know Anthem’s soundtrack will be epic. We’ll see if the rest of the game matches the soundtrack when it releases on February 22, 2019.

As for Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey? Composer and producer duo Joe Henson and Alexis Smith (known as The Flight) are handling it. They helped craft the soundtrack for Horizon: Zero Dawn. Check out the main theme for Odyssey below.
