Original article follows.

The devs also detailed three Urzikstan locations for a limited time mode called Urzikstan Resurgence: Orlov Military Base, Popov Power, and Zaravan Suburbs. Here’s an image of the new Warzone map showing these three places.

All squad sizes will be available for the Battle Royale portion of the playlist for the entirety of Season 1.

Playlists will also quickly expand as Ashika and Vondel come on December 8.

Don’t worry Lockdown fans. That mode is slated to be added in the in-season update in early 2024. Another limited-time mode called Slay Ride Resurgence (holiday-theme with features built around it) will drop as we get closer to the holidays.

When are Warzone playlists updated?

For most of Warzone 1 and 2, playlists were updated every Wednesday at 12 p.m. ET. But expect updates to come more frequently at first with the launch of Urzikstan. We already know what’s coming on day one, and Vondel/Ashika will be added shortly after. I’ll update the timing if we see any more changes with the newest iteration of Warzone.

A new map means a new Gulag. It’ll come with new stuff too, including Public Events:

  • Go Again – Fight for a respawn if you lose the first one.
  • Cash Grab – Money on the floor with a big stack in the middle.
  • Locked & Loaded Weapons – AMG + SMG loadout with full armor.

The Gulag will see a shake-up mid-season with Night Vision Gulag.

The devs also reiterated the movement changes coming to Warzone at launch:

  • Slide canceling.
  • Tac-Stance.
  • ADS while sliding.
  • Running while reloading
  • A slight movement boost when using the Stim Tactical.

And that’s not all. More gameplay changes are inbound including a dedicated pistol whenever you are swimming, climbing ladders, or ledge hanging. You’ll get a pistol in these situations whether your loadout has it or not.

You’ll also be able to choose precisely when to equip the Gas Mask. And horizontal ziplines will add yet another movement dynamic to Urzikstan.

And while there will be equippable perks returning with Urzikstan, the devs have decided to have several perks enabled by default. They include:

  • Tac Pads: Improves slide distance and allows for full ADS while sliding, along with increased stance transition speeds.
  • Commando Gloves: Enables reloading while running.
  • Quick-Grip Gloves: Increases your weapon swap speed.
  • Climbing Boots: Increases climbing and mantling speed aspect.
  • Overkill: Allows you to pick two Primary Weapons.

All those quality-of-life improvements made over the past year will be here too. So we shouldn’t be waiting for the devs to implement fixes for issues we’ve seen before.

All of us are hoping for Warzone to return to its former glory with next week’s enormous update. So far, it all sounds fantastic. We’ll see how it shakes out in the days and weeks ahead.
