The First Red Dead Redemption 2 Gameplay Trailer is Here and Promises Better Shootin’

We are just over two months away from Red Dead Redemption 2, and Rockstar Games is firing up the marketing machine. A short while ago, our first solid look at the game’s gameplay was released. And it’s looking damn good. Here’s a six-minute overview showing off a lot of what Red Dead Redemption 2 will have to offer.

Yep, that’s all running on a PlayStation 4 Pro. At least, according to the description from PlayStation Europe’s YouTube upload.

The overview gives us a basic look at what Red Dead Redemption 2 is about. No big surprises here, but the video does dive deeper into character interaction options and stuff like that.

It’s what I hear from the narrator around the 3:55 mark that has me pumped the most right now. “Shooting and fighting have both been radically improved.” Games like GTA V don’t have many faults, but the shooting mechanics is one of them. Which is weird because the shooting in Max Payne 3 was fantastic. Just take what worked there and dump it into Red Dead Redemption 2.

Rockstar promises a “radically improved” system so we shall see.

Speaking of shooting, the Deadeye system is back, and we see a glimpse of it at the end of the trailer. Rockstar will show it off more in another gameplay video soon. We’ll also get a look at missions, activities, and a whole lot more in the second gameplay video. I can’t wait to see what Rockstar has planned for its ‘Red Dead Online’ mode.

Red Dead Redemption 2’s open-world gang adventure is coming October 26th.
