Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson will hit the big screens next Memorial Day weekend in San Andreas.
Here’s the plot.
After the infamous San Andreas Fault finally gives, triggering a magnitude 9 earthquake in California, a search and rescue helicopter pilot (Dwayne Johnson) and his estranged wife make their way together from Los Angeles to San Francisco to save their only daughter.
But their treacherous journey north is only the beginning. And when they think the worst may be over…it’s just getting started.
SIGN ME UP! It’s got everything you could possibly want in a summer movie. Natural disasters? Check. The Rock? Check. Oh, and Alexandra Daddario. What more could you possibly want in a summer flick.
Brad Peyton is handling directing duties for San Andreas. Peyton and The Rock have teamed up together in the past with Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.
Besides Dwayne Johnson and Alexandra Daddario, San Andreas will also star Carla Gugino, Ioan Gruffudd, Archie Panjabi, Hugo Johnstone-Burt, Art Parkinson and Paul Giamatti.
In the trailer, Giamatti ominously warns “even though this is happening here in California, you will feel it on the east coast.” God, I love natural disaster movies. Now we just need Tommy Lee Jones diverting some lava and we are set.
It looks epic. Plus, it can’t possibly be worse than 2012.
San Andreas will hit theaters on May 29, 2015.
