Well, pencil Fox in for a box office win on November 6, 2015. That’s the day the animated Peanuts movie hits theaters. With everyone gearing up for the usual glut of Christmas films, Fox decided to drop the reminder that Peanuts is making its silver screen return next holiday season.
Luckily for fans of the series, the animated movie stays true to the original characters from Charles M. Schultz. The trailer features everyone’s favorite beagle, Snoopy. He’s in his Sopwith Camel heading after the Red Baron. What about Woodstock? The character shares screen time trying to decorate Snoopy’s doghouse for Christmas.
Of course, it wouldn’t be Peanuts without Charlie Brown. He slides in at the end of the trailer, dragging popcorn to his seat. It pulls back showing off all the characters to be featured in the movie.
What do you think? Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang have shockingly not been in a major CGI-release. The jump is sure to worry people, but I think the art direction should tamp down concerns over ‘too much CG.’ It gives the film a ton of polish and is unfortunately designed for 3D, but it still retains the character of the old specials.
Plus, it will bring in a whole new generation of fans, and have plenty of nostalgia for those that don’t want to admit their age. Check out the trailer below and sound off on what you would like to see in the film.
