World of Warcraft is what every MMO strived to be. None could ever match Blizzard’s MMO in subscriber numbers. And, while they may be in decline, World of Warcraft still boasts 6.8 million subscribers. Numbers other publishers and developers can only dream of.
For its 10 year celebration, Blizzard is adding special PvE and PvP content. PvE players at level 90 can enjoy a 40-player Raid Finder version of the Molten Core raid. Destroying the Firelord will net you a Core Hound mount and the accompanying achievement.
For PvP players, Blizzard is bringing back the old battles around Tarren Mill and Southshore. This time Blizzard is offering a “team deathmatch-style” Battleground “based on that timeless struggle.” Since it’s a Battleground, a clear winner will be determined for the special event.
Blizzard also has a special gift for anyone logging on during the anniversary event. Their very own Molten Corgi. Check him out in the picture below. These events will only be available for a limited time, so be sure to jump on.
Besides gearing up for its 10-year anniversary, Blizzard will also announce the Warlords of Draenor at a special event next week. A cinematic trailer, which is sure to please, will accompany the release date. Check out a livestream of the event on August 14 at 9:30 am PDT at WorldofWarcraft.com. Near the L.A. area? Head to the Theatre at Ace Hotel to catch the event live and snag a beta key.
