Ok, props to the marketing team at Hennessey Performance. Last year saw Dodge claim the mantle of American muscle with the Dodge Demon, an 850-horsepower, well, demon…
How do you counter a Demon from terrorizing the streets? An exorcism. Hennessey isn’t opting for the power of Christ to compel the Dodge Demon off the streets, but the company is using a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and turning it into a 1000-horsepower behemoth. The Camaro ZL1 was already quite the muscle car, but the Hennessey Exorcist Camaro adds 350-horsepower over the stock ZL1.
Holy water does not equal horsepower, so the team added a larger supercharger to juice the numbers. While the Dodge Demon is more drag racing–focused, the Exorcist Camaro finds itself at home on the track and on the open roads, able to hit a top speed of 217 MPH. 0-60 time under three seconds. Quarter mile times under ten. It will definitely make the list as one of the fastest cars in the world.
There is a catch. You’ll need a prayer to snap up the limited run. Only 100 will be on the streets, and it prices out at $120,000. A $120,000 Camaro does seem a bit much but damn if I wouldn’t be all smiles taking it for a spin. With a radar detector. Look at it. It might be an Exorcist, but God doesn’t handle speeding tickets.
