Jennifer Lawrence better start clearing her mantle. First, she’s an Oscar-winning actress. Two, she has two franchises that routinely do hundreds of millions of dollars at the box office. To set off her hat trick? Jennifer Lawrence will crack the Billboard top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart.

In the latest Hunger Games, Lawrence’s Katniss sings ‘The Hanging Tree.’ Is it good? If you followed pop music over the past decade, hits and taste are two vastly different ideas. Besides, it’s all about that money, no rhythm.

According to Billboard, fans of the movie have downloaded the song 150,000 in the US in just the past week. That’s more than enough to crack the top 40. Jennifer Lawrence’s rendition of ‘The Hanging Tree’ has been enough to create an international pop star. It debuted at 14 on the UK’s singles chart, and 12 on ARIA’s Australian Top 50 Singles Chart.

Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins wrote the lyrics, while Lumineers’ Jeremiah Fraites and Wesley Schultz wrote the music. A choir and orchestra join Lawrence on the song in Mockingjay Part 1. Listen to it below. What do you think? Top 40 material?
