The Jubilee Project asked adults and kids, “If you could change one thing about your body, what would it be?”
Adults answered the question about like you would expect. They wanted to change what they perceived as flaws on their bodies. One woman wanted to change her forehead, while a man hated his ears.
Another woman speaks for most of us and jokes, “Only one?”
Kids on the other hand, took a much more creative approach to the question. Instead of focusing on what they didn’t like, they focused on what they wished they had. “A shark mouth, so I could eat a lot of stuff,” says one of the kids. Ha! I love it. Other answers included, “legs like a cheetah so I could run faster,” and “teleportation in my body.”
Me? Hmm, that’s a tough one. Well, the adult answer would be to lose some fat. But, the kid in me would like Magneto’s power from X-Men.
The above video isn’t surprising. But, it does remind us not to think so negatively about ourselves all the time. There’s nothing wrong with some self-improvement (losing weight, etc). Just don’t beat yourself up about it.
