On Sunday, a Russian Soyuz space capsule brought home International Space Station crewmates Maxim Suraev (Russia), Reid Wiseman (USA) and Alexander Gerst (Germany).
The three men landed in Kazakhstan after more than five months aboard the International Space Station. Right now, the three are being assisted as they readjust to Earth’s gravity.
Astronauts as social media stars isn’t new. Chris Hadfield was the first Twitter star as he released thousands of incredible images and an awesome cover of “Space Oddity” that drew more than 28 million views.
Wiseman and Gerst both embraced Vine to showcase timelapse videos of our planet.

Here’s a beautiful video from Alexander Gerst as the ISS flew over New Zealand.
As for your next Astronaut social media star? Alexander Gerst says his friend, fellow astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti, will take up the Twitter mantle in his absence. Her ISS mission starts in about two weeks.
