Microsoft’s E3 conference revealed Frank West is back in Dead Rising 4 and is bringing his zombie-killing ways to Xbox One and Windows 10. A few days later and we learn that Frank West probably isn’t staying on just Xbox One and Windows 10.
Dead Rising 4 is a timed exclusive. That’s the latest word from Microsoft to multiple outlets.
In a statement to Gamespot, Microsoft says Dead Rising 4 “will remain a Windows 10 exclusive for the first 90 days and console exclusive on Xbox One for one year.”
Alright, let’s break down the timing. Dead Rising 4 hits Xbox One and PC on December 6. That means the chances are good we see Dead Rising 4 hit Steam sometime around March 2017. And PS4 in December 2017.
It’s pretty much a guarantee really. Why would Capcom ignore the enormous communities on both Steam and PS4? Sure, by the time it hits these platforms the hype surrounding them will have died down some. But I don’t see Capcom leaving two of the biggest platforms in gaming out to dry.
Frank West returns to Dead Rising 4
The absurdly awesome Dead Rising franchise returns with its beloved character – Frank West. We’re back in Willamette, Colorado for more zombie-killing mayhem. And Capcom is finding new ways to make the action crazier and the aftermath wackier.
Here’s the official trailer from E3 if you missed it.
And three minutes of gameplay.
Get ready to smash, blast, burn, slice and crush hordes of zombies with three friends this December.
