“May contain content inappropriate for children.” Congrats Bethesda. You win the award for biggest understatement of the day. A new Doom trailer is here and shows us Doom is still Doom. And, I love it.
Bethesda and their developers know how to make a shooter. Here are some guns. Here are some bad guys. Enjoy!
Whether it’s Nazis or hellish demons, you know you’re in for a game packed with tight gunplay. What more can you ask from a shooter?
Man, they really loved showing off those melee kill animations. Those are 100% optional by the way. You can just blast demons old school without a boot stomp to the head or ripping their eyes out. Me? Hell, I enjoyed Ryse: Son of Rome’s melee kill animations – I’m 100% onboard with Doom’s.
The biggest concern with these kill animations is how it affects the game’s pacing. Doom is about constant, fast action. I don’t think it will be a problem, but it will be something to keep an eye out for.
Besides the new trailer, we also have a release date. May 13th. Which begs the question, what the hell is Bethesda showing at its E3 conference?! I figured they would aim for a late June release date and let Doom be one of its conference highlights. We know Dishonored 2 is a lock, but past that look for new games to be announced.
Doom looks fantastic. I just hope Doom SnapMap is as good as it looks.
Let me know what you think of the trailer. Also, what games do you think Bethesda has up its sleeve for its E3 conference?
