The folks at Io Interactive are in the giving mood. After surprising everyone by making episodic content work so damn well, the devs have one more surprise in store. Next week, Hitman’s Paris location is getting a festive makeover. ‘Holiday Hoarders’ gives Agent 47 a Santa Claus costume and tasks him with taking out two thieves. Harry and Marv’s misadventures are about to take a permanent turn.
Io Interactive hopes you return the giving gesture. The dev is releasing the free mission in support of the World Cancer Research Fund. Take out a pair of thieves and help a good cause by donating to www.wcrf-uk.org/hitman.
From the blog post:
Two thieves have gained entrance to the fashion show event and are stealing the presents. As Agent 47, it’s your job to stop them, for good. If you are able to get to the presents first, feel free to open them and use whatever you find inside to help eliminate these two sticky bandits…
New holiday-themed challenges will offer up an additional reward.
One quick note about next week’s update. The Holiday Hoarders version of Paris will not replace the Showstopper mission. You’ll be able to choose which version of Paris you want to play.
December live content schedule
The drip of content you were accustomed to all year continues in December. New challenges, an escalation contract and two new Elusive Targets are coming this month. Let’s take a look.
Did you miss out on the crazy Hitman deals during Black Friday? You’ll probably get another chance to save big when the Steam Christmas Sale kicks off December 22nd. If you’re a fan of the Hitman franchise, pick it up. You won’t be disappointed.
Next week’s Holiday Hoarders won’t be the last we see from Hitman. Season 2 was recently confirmed to be in the works. Io Interactive nailed the support over the past 12 months. And with Season 2 building off the same game, expect to see the first new location soon.
