Nintendo is skipping the massive E3 press event spectacle again this year. It’s the second straight year the company will not be hosting a major E3 press conference. Instead, Nintendo will host a Super Smash Bros. for Wii U tournament at the Nokia Theater.

Nintendo is likely to drop a couple of announcements and teasers for Wii U games at the event. Besides the Smash Bros. tournament, Nintendo will also be holding other various events from its E3 booth during the week.

I would imagine Nintendo will take the chance to toot their horn after the success of Mario Kart 8. Nintendo will be looking to replicate that success in future titles.

Want to watch Nintendo’s version of an E3 press conference? The folks at Twitch have you covered. Below, I embedded Twitch’s E3 stream. Nintendo’s conference will start Tuesday, June 10 at 9 am PDT. That’s 12 pm EDT for east coast folks and 5 pm in the UK.
