A Rockstar representative confirmed the release date has not changed after a fan asked if the PC version had been delayed. “I’m also looking forward to the PC release,” the representative wrote. “However, this release date has not changed.”

The official word out of Rockstar’s camp is that GTA V is coming to PC, Xbox One and PS4 this fall. A recent listing from UK retailer, Gem, points to a November 14 release. That listing is unofficial, though.

October makes sense. At one point, October was packed with games. That has thinned somewhat after Evolve, Assassin’s Creed: Unity, Battlefield: Hardline and Batman: Arkham Knight were pushed out of October. Most of these games were pushed to next year, but AC: Unity is coming in November.

I think some of these publishers ditched October to get away from GTA V.

But, there’s also cases to be made for November or even later. The lack of a release date is a bit puzzling. Most publishers want to tout pre-order numbers. Then again, GTA V will have no problem pushing millions of units.

I just don’t think November is a good fit. Call of Duty, Assassin’s Creed, Halo and GTA V all in one month? Awesome for gamers with cash to blow.

Plus, you can’t ignore the potential earnings impact. Evolve is already delayed until next year. If GTA V also gets delayed, Take Two’s holiday quarter will be carried by Civilization: Beyond Earth, NBA 2K15 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. Not a bad lineup, but GTA V would guarantee a banner quarter. I would be shocked if GTA V is pushed to 2015.

When do you think Rockstar will release GTA V? Whenever they do, multiplayer heists better be there day one. No heists, no buy.
