We are a month away from the release of Bungie’s Destiny expansion – The Taken King. Starting next week and leading up to launch, Bungie will host three Twitch livestreams to dish out further details on The Taken King.
The multi-week livestreams starts on August 19th. Titled “Destiny Year Two,” Executive Producer Mark Noseworthy and Senior Design Lead Tyson Green will talk about how your experiences from Destiny’s first year will transition into the second. Updates to the Tower will be touched on as well as a more in-depth look at Character Level and Light. Bungie also suggests you don’t dismantle any of your gear until you watch the livestream on August 19th at 11 a.m. PT.
The August 26th livestream, “Strike The Dreadnaught,” will focus on combat.
“What surprises do the Taken have for us in combat?”
“How are boss battles different in the Taken King?”
Those are two questions Design Lead James Tsai and community member Mr. Fruit will tackle on August 26th at 11 a.m. PT. You will also get to see the new Guardian sub-classes in action during a new Strike mission.
The final livestream, “Court of Oryx,” will reveal some of the challenges and rewards that await you in The Taken King. “Learn how Guardians can instigate Public Events. Behold the challenges and the rewards that await you on board the capital ship commanded by Oryx,” Bungie teases. Bungie’s Ben Wommack and Luke Smith are joined by community member Laced Up Lauren for the September 2nd livestream at 11 a.m. PT.
The Taken King sounds like it’s going to be great. I was one of the players that hung up my Guardian after a month. I loved the raid, but the loot grind was just a bit too tedious for me. I was already playing Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls and figured one loot game was enough for me.
The Taken King has me on the verge of jumping back in, though. Anyone else out there who gave up on Destiny, but thinking about jumping back in? Let me know in the comments below.
