Someone saw the card at Target and posted it on Snapchat. What’s that say at the top? A remastered Call of Duty: Modern Warfare? Any worries I had about Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare just evaporated.
Ever since Xbox One announced backward compatibility, fans have been clamoring for older Call of Duty games to be added. So far, the only one announced had been Black Ops I. And Xbox One owners are still waiting.
A remastered Call of Duty: Modern Warfare makes sense, and it would give plenty of people incentive to pick up Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (provided the remaster doesn’t have a standalone version).
The preorder card also shows a release date of November 4, 2016. Don’t let the Friday release fool you. I know, most of the time publishers release new games on Tuesdays. But Black Ops III came out on a Friday (November 6, 2015). Don’t let the Friday date make you believe it’s fake.
We’ll know for sure soon
The preorder card looks real enough. And a remastered Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is believable. Fans have been wanting one for years. But, this is still rumor territory. After the 3-D printed Nintendo NX shenanigans, what can you believe anymore?
My gut says the preorder card is legit. And will know for sure soon enough. May is Call of Duty reveal month for Activision. The publisher likes to pair it up with a NBA Playoff game, so we should see it sometime in the next week or two.
What’s your favorite Call of Duty: Modern Warfare map?
Let’s say a remaster is coming. What map can you not wait to get back to? It’s a tough one for me. Modern Warfare had several outstanding maps. I’m going to go with Crash. But it’s a toss up between several.
Overgrown, Bog, Shipment, Wet Work, Pipeline – hell there aren’t too many maps I didn’t like. Even the one map I hated, I want to see again. I’m looking at you Bloc.
If this preorder card is right, it’ll be raining grenades (that 3x grenade perk) this holiday season.
