First it was Dead Rising 3, today it’s Ryse: Son of Rome. Crytek’s third-person action game set in ancient Rome will hit PCs everywhere this fall according to the game’s official Twitter.
As a Xbox One launch title, Ryse was published by Microsoft. For the PC release, Crytek and Deep Silver will share publishing duties.
Dead Rising 3 was also published by Microsoft, but Capcom will be publishing the PC release in September.
Today’s news doesn’t mean Xbox One exclusives are a lock for PC release as well. Dead Rising 3 and Ryse: Son of Rome were not developed in-house at Microsoft. If new releases of Microsoft’s top franchises such as Forza, Halo or Gears start making the jump to PC, then it will be a big deal.
The PC release of Ryse: Son of Rome will come with the DLC from the console version. Those of you with powerful machines can enjoy resolutions up to 4K. Ryse: Son of Rome is a fun, but short game. If you’re looking for some of the best eye candy out there while playing out your Maximus fantasy, you can’t go wrong with Ryse.
Now, we wait for the Halo Master Chief Collection on PC announcement. You know it’s coming. Maybe not this year, but it’s coming.
