Update: The Solo Stove Bonfire can now be preordered from the company’s main site.

Sorry folks, we have the long night to wait for the next season of Game of Thrones. But with winter coming, it’s bonfire season. Nothing beats a group campfire with your family telling embarrassing stories about you in front of friends.

Hey, if you’re going to get roasted, shouldn’t the fire pit look stylish? Thankfully Solo Stove agrees and is crowdfunding its next hit – the Solo Stove Bonfire. Twigs and biomass are out as fuel. 20 pounds of firewood is in. The Texas-based Solo Stove is promising it to be the world’s most efficient and unique firepit around.

Efficient without a doubt. The 20 pounds of logs you stack in burns down to five ounces of ash. That’s serious airflow.

The design of the Bonfire allows it to use airflow not seen in other fire pits. Our log stacking abilities were just one-upped by the company. Intake holes are placed on the outside and inside top of the Bonfire. Air intake holes are drilled into the bottom to further draw in oxygen. It travels up through the double wall and out the top holes. Better airflow. Better bonfire.

Keeping the fire centered and even is the stainless steel fire ring. When not in use, flip it upside down to nest it inside the Bonfire for easy storage.

It wouldn’t be Solo Stove if the Bonfire weren’t portable. It weighs in at 20 pounds and has a height of 14 inches and a diameter of 19.5 inches. A water resistant nylon bag keeps everything together when hitting the beach, your backyard or a camping trip.

Solo Stove Bonfire Kickstarter

Yes, backers are in for a bit of a wait, but Solo Stove has delivered in the past and has an entire product range of stoves. The bonfire is their biggest product yet, and the $15,000 funding goal was smashed and sits at $135,000 with 22 days left in the campaign.

Ship dates are set for December – allowing plenty of time to gather friends around the fire during cold winter evenings.

Pricing is reasonable considering the engineering and portability. $249 is the Kickstarter price for the first production run. Need the full Solo Stove range? Grab the Bonfire, Titan, Campfire and Lite for $449.
